Seen as one of the most influential writers of the early 20th century, James Joyce was the center of several legal battles due to the explicit tone his writing took.
He battled severe eye problems for most of his life, and was the oldest of 10 siblings. His parents noticed his intelligence at a very early age, and made sure he was educated. James could speak 17 different languages.
