There are about 4 words that I cannot ever spell right. (Maybe less, maybe more. We will see after I remember them all, and yes, I am not changing the start of this paragraph).
Immediately. Seriously. Every time I have to spell this word, I have to question myself.
Cemetery. Here is how I spell it; every, single, time. Cemetary.
Bethlehem. Yep. I have read the Bible so much it is ridiculous that I can’t spell this word. But here is how I do spell it: Bethleham.
(I have to say, all of these red-squiggly lines under my misspelled words is traumatizing).
Eligible. Yep, I will be eligable all day long for spelling this wrong.
Okay, there are 3. And it is too painful for me to go on. But as I come across the others as I am at work, writing emails and trying to act like an adult; I will take note and let you know!

I blame Cemetery misspellings on the pronunciation and Stephen King.
I agree. Not only do I not want to hang out at a cemetery, I really do not care if I know how to spell it ๐
Actually I like them, just can’t spell the name. Lol
I can never remember how to spell awkward – Drives me crazy!
I couldn’t agree more. It’s funny how we can love words so much but have so much trouble spelling them. Oh well. ๐ I really enjoyed reading this.
Necessary, maintenance, schedule are three that I consistently misspell as necesary, maintanance, and schedule. Oh, look at that. I got schedule right.

I can’t spell different (“diffrent”) separate (“seperate”) restaurant (“resturant”) and, the one word that I hate spelling most of all: “Medieval.”
Mine are personnel; I always go with one N and two Ls and receive, where I refuse to remember I before E, except after C. Plus, autocorrect and active spell check are making me lazy in my old age.
Thanks for sharing Julian! A lot of the errors I see when reading something, whether it is a book, an article online, or an email, is that auto-correct fixed something it shouldn’t have. Or of course it is not always capable of knowing the difference between there or their, and other words like that.
I always want to put an extra P in my opinions, when I have the opportunity.
I have a hard time with a lot which I am not sure why it isn’t really spelled alot. Then I have difficulty with conscience and conscious. Now which one do I use? Supersede should really be spelled supercede in my opinion.
I agree with all of these! I was just thinking about conscious and conscience LOL
I can never spell lieutenant correctly, which is odd because the protagonist in my novel is called Lieutenant Lee, and he associates with a lot of other Lieutenant-something-or-others. That word appears over 400 times in the book… and yet I still always mis-spell it. Weird.
That is definitely one I would need spell check for myself. Thanks for sharing!
Mine are burglar and broccoli!
Those are both tricky ones! I was thinking about how I can never, ever spell Bethlehem correctly. I always spell it like I say it” Bethleham”. I am much more aware of it now ๐
preposterous! – always gets me ๐ฆ
