A great quote. I think there are so many unspoken benefits to reading beyond the added intelligence and everything else that science has proven.

I love movies. They are great, and entertaining and I love to dissect them and think about the questions and issues they raise. But nothing feels quite the same way as finishing a book.
In a movie, there is a good guy and a bad guy, almost all the time. In a book, it can make you question those kind of written rules that exist in our society. It can make you feel emotions, like feeling sympathy for the people that are supposed to be bad. And it can be fantastical, yet bring you closer to reality than any other form of media.

Which makes it great for kids, and will certainly be a key tool in the way I raise my children in the future (when they exist). Plus, extra bonus because I love Neil Gaimon.

Thank you for sharing Toby! I am obsessed with books, and reading. It has always been my escape, and I would read a book in a day from a very young age. My Mom would get so frustrated when we would go to the store, she would by me a book, and I would have it read by that night 🙂
