Always a work in process, I have a few more wooden crates in my garage being spray painted; yes, this was my best option when buying a new house and building a library before worrying about any other room.
I have books stacked on crates, items that need to be hung on the walls, and still have to put in my tin ceiling that Menard’s denied me over a year ago.
Still unpacking books, and trying to make room.
I love too many stories to make a theme in this library, other than reading books!
Love it…so envious!
Thanks AJ! I wish I could say I enjoy it every day, but I am definitely getting it built up!
OMG I love your library and yes, I now suffer from library-envy π
Thank you Bibi! I have not yet enjoyed it, due to life punching me in the face!
Oh no π¦ I hope you’re okay and get the chance to throw a few punches back β€
Totally understand, the highlight of my house (bought 2 years ago) was getting my library done… still have no kitchen or bathroom to speak of, oops?
I made sure I had somewhere to pee, LOLOL
My library is somewhat disorganized as well and it’s spread all over the place – including the kitchen. But I wouldn’t have it any other way!
very creative, I like it π
I’m so jealous!! My man claimed the garage as our social space (keg fridge, dart board, projector screen, etc.) so, for space for my books I have…. Bupkis. My books are in boxes in the basement, and even there they need to be moved soon because our basement has the tendency to flood and I will die if I lose my books…
I lost many books I had as a teenager when my parents’ basement flooded π
Looks great! Love the books, of course, but also the Sherlock picture and the cozy reading nook. Enjoy!!
Thanks Amy! I have definitely been on a cozy-mystery kick for the last couple of weeks!
Don’t like it…love it!
It looks amazing! π
I love the way readers individualise their libraries. The wooden crates make an unusual and interesting option. Also, love the reading chairs!
Thank you so much!!!
Love it! My husband and I have one wall of our bedroom lined with bookshelves, but it is overflowing at the moment.
Love the wooden crates and reading chairs.
Thanks Sam!
I am a fan of e-books simply because I have travelled and moved around a lot so couldn’t carry a library with me. However seeing this makes me go back to buying physical books and start one now that I am relatively more settled. Thanks for the inspiration.
I too appreciate the ease of digital books, and own several myself!
Best is to combine the ease of e-books with the beauty of physical books it seems!
The library is looking awesome!
Thanks Trisha!
The arrangement is looking perfect!
The idea of stacking crates that way is a great one!
I just may copy the idea π
Thanks Cinlorac! makes it easy to rearrange as well π
Yes, that’s the best part π
I love that you have a map of Narnia!
One of my prized possessions! I also have crazy Lincoln collectibles, like an authenticated piece of Mary Todd Lincoln’s dress, that I am trying to get my hallway foyer repainted to display all my Lincoln collectibles π
Very nice ,it’s beautiful…
Thanks Sunny!
Welcome Angela!
I love it.
What a great idea of the crates – so easy to stack in any number and combination – definitely an idea I will keep. Now to find a source of crates…
I have found them at Lowe’s or WalMart. Also saw them in Joann Fabrics a week ago.
I could live in this room! Love the Holmes profile. I’ve got a bookcase dedicated to Holmesiness. π
Thanks Jeanlees! I have a very comfortable chaise lounge chair in there as well, and I love all things Holmes π
Do you have a favorite among the tv adaptations? π
