I could have stayed in bed all day, but my 14 year old had marching band practice from 9am to 3pm.
These two boys made it really hard to get up! Benjamin and Franklin own the industry on laziness ๐
I actually took myself to WalMart instead of letting someone shop for me… it went rather well; but the baking after I got home? Not so much…
My daughters friends family is definitely struggling with the father being in the hospital for the last month after a horrible accident. I am bringing them a turkey dinner tomorrow.
Burned my arm checking the first batch of muffins, orange-sized blister now. Couldn’t figure out why the 2nd batch of muffins was taking so long to cook. I accidentally turned off the oven and never realized it.
All this time I could have been reading and writing ๐
And how is your Saturday going? I hope it includes an awesome book and warmth and comfort!
I’ve totally done that with the oven before! The most embarrassing part though was how long it took me to realize what I’d done (I can’t even admit it to you now LOL). I hope your arm is okay!
Me too!!! Why are these muffins not cooking???? Ummmm; because I am an idiot ๐ cold water and burn gel; but the blister is forming๐ณ 2nd oven blister this month … time to give up the oven mitts ๐
๐๐๐
I hope the rest of your day goes well.
Thanks Gracie! I am about done prepping this turkey dinner tomorrow for a family friend! My daughter gives the approval of the layered pumpkin cheesecake๐
My Saturday has been fantastic. Had a spa morning right here at home, then went to Houston for an author talk/visit with Attica Lowe whose latest novel, Bluebird, Bluebird, is the Gulf Coast Read for October. She was nothing short of amazing. My Better Half has finished the book,(library copy) and I have just started it today. Our Third Tuesday Book Club will discuss it on the 16th.
So amazing Rae! I am looking to get into a book club but my schedule is so crazy; I just canโt make it work yet!
Hope your day picked up, that sounds like one of those days! And terrible about your daughter’s friend’s dad, that’s really nice to bring them food, hopefully things work out for them X
Ah the joys of cooking. I have to use two trivets to take dishes out of the oven because I don’t do oven mitts. Once I managed to drop one of the trivets into to oven without realizing it when I was putting a dish back in. Yep, that sucker caught on fire. No damage or anything; I just felt like an idiot. I hope your day gets better!
๐ my day did get better! Thanks for sharing your story, I needed the chuckle ๐
It looks like the older they get, the lazier they become – imagine they’re 17!
I’ve done that with the baking but i think that wasnt the worse… once i took out the cake and forgot to turn the oven off… I only remembered a few hours later when i was wondering why the kitchen was so warm!,
I think we’ve all been there once or twice. It’s all good, though. Lessons learned. Here’s to better Saturdays. ๐
Three cheers to that! ๐
Love those names, Benjamin and Franklin. And what yummy goodies!
Thanks Laurel-Rain! I always give my pets “people” names ๐
Ouch! ๐ Those muffins look worth the pain though. Thatโs happened to me before, and I couldnโt work out why they werenโt cooking! ๐ฐ
