As it is officially “Black Friday”, the only store I have any desire to go to is Barnes and Noble, and bless their hearts, they do not open until 8am. There is nothing specific I have in mind that I absolutely have to get today, so I get to leisurely wander the store and see what catches my eye. I will definitely be on the look-out for anything I think my fellow readers and writers may like!
Three more days of Thanksgiving break for me, and then it is back to work for 3 weeks before Christmas break. I can honestly say I am ready to go back to work; sitting home has never been my thing, no matter how many wonderful books I have lined up to read!

The Night Shadow – Cheri Vause
This is a great suspense-mystery story, set in the 1960’s. Taking place between California and New York, the attention to details for this decade is excellent, and just one of many things that make this story so enjoyable.
There are many characters in this story, but the story places them in at the right time, without overwhelming you and making you feel like you can no longer keep track of who-is-whom. Very early on I was trying to work out what I thought the ending of the story would be, the who-done-it if I may.
There are twists and turns, and I quickly developed a valued interest in the main characters, Esther and Mac. There is tragedy, illness, murder, deception, hatred, and many other vices sprinkled throughout the story that made me stay up much later than I should of just because I needed to know what was going to happen next.
I can honestly say at one point I was brought to tears, and that does not very often happen to me from a book. Of course I never had it figured out, but those are the ones that make the best stories, wouldn’t you agree?
I would recommend you get this book as soon as possible. Just make sure you have the free time to read it, because once you start, you will not want to put it down!

Footprints – Crissy Moss
A fantastic short story, a man deals with the grief, loss, and emptiness after the death of his father. Losing a loved one is never easy, and to have them taken from you for reasons beyond a natural death of old age after living a long life makes it sometimes impossible to accept and heal from. I cannot tell you too much without giving away key points and spoilers to this story. It is a bit supernatural, a lot suspenseful, and well worth the read. I will definitely be getting Crissy’s other short stories, compiled into a book, when my reading list gets a little bit smaller!

Autographed Dean Koontz Book – Give-Away #2
I am going to make this one short, sweet, and simple 🙂 I have an autographed Dean Koontz book, “Innocence”. I purchased the book via Barnes & Noble from a presale of 500 autographed books. This book is not numbered, and it has not been read. I opened it to take photographs of the autographs inside. Other than that, it has been stored and not touched.
If you are a Dean Koontz fan, or know someone this would make a great gift for, be sure and enter via Rafflecopter. All you need to do is follow this blog if you do not currently do so. I have this give-away ending at Midnight on Thanksgiving day, or 12 am on Black Friday, however you prefer to look at it. I do have several of Dean’s books, but I know the mere fact that this book is autographed is going to keep me from reading it. I would rather someone who would read it, or enjoys Dean Koontz even more than I do, to have this book.
