Looks Like I’ll Have Plenty of Time to Read and Edit Books…

…this Michigan winter and my front steps can piss off. Spending the night in the hospital and surgery in the morning.

Yes, my ankle really did bend and break like that😩 Those steps are coming out with a sledgehammer asap.So yeah, if you got something good I should be reading, let me know!

Ouch! That looks really painful!!! If you like a funny sci-fi read try ‘Starship Grifters’ by Robert Kroese! Really light hearted and an amazing audio book if you’re not in the mood for reading! Or ‘Dark matter’ by Blake crouch I’d you want something trippy, ‘the hating game’ by Sally Thorne if you want something lighthearted and romantic, ‘Eleanor Oliphant is completely’ fine by Gail Honeyman is a wonderful read that slowly unfolds a very deep and laugh out loud story…. I could go on if you want! Lol! I hope you find something you like! Let me know if there’s a certain genre you’re leaning towards!! 😄

    • Angela January 17, 2018 / 10:59 pm

      Thanks for the book ideas!

  8. Varida P&R January 17, 2018 / 10:47 pm

😱 So sorry that happened to you! Would a book cheer you up? I’d be willing to give you a copy of one of ours. I know you like several different genres. Do you read sci-fi or fantasy? I do have a novella that could be considered romance, as well.

Major ouch! I did something similar 20 years ago, but it was in Florida and summertime. I jumped out the back door of an RV that was headed up north the next day to make sure it was ready to go, and I jumped wrong and broke my ankle. Then I slipped on my steps with the crutches a couple of weeks later and had to have surgery. I hope you don’t need that and just heal well and easy. Enjoy your convalescence, be very careful while on crutches! Get lots of rest and reading 🙂 I’m also from the wonderful mitten state, and broke the same ankle lol. I do feel your pain. Keep us posted how you are getting along!

    • Angela January 17, 2018 / 11:03 pm

Not looking forward to crutches that’s for sure!

  10. nzfnmblog January 18, 2018 / 1:02 am

    • Angela January 18, 2018 / 2:59 am

I have never heard of either but will look them up and see what they write. Thanks!

    • Angela January 18, 2018 / 6:16 am

Hoping they come in soon to tell me what time surgery is going to be and what exactly they are going to do. Hopefully no pins will be necessary 😔

      • lorraineambers January 18, 2018 / 1:28 pm

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. 💙💙💙

  16. Judi Moore January 18, 2018 / 7:04 am

How awful for you! I have never seen an ankle that shape.

Book suggestions – er … own trumpet blowing time: do you like satire? If so you might like to try my new novel set in an English university in 1985. It’s so new the paperback isn’t out just yet, but it’s available on Kindle. Or I can send you a file if you think you’ll be doing any reviewing while your ankle’s healing.

Hope the painkillers are a good trip!

    • Angela January 18, 2018 / 7:13 am

I was quite surprised myself when I literally watched and heard it break… I keep replaying it over and again in my head 😔

I love satire and if you want to send me a file I can get it read and reviewed. Thanks a bunch!!!

OH NO! I am so sorry. I know how it is. I live in Vermont and we have the same problems. My husband always reminds me as I walk out the door in the mornings, “be careful on the walk way and the bottom step”. I hope you heal quickly. I just read the New York Crime King Series, by Skyla Madi, great read if you like intense Alpha males and independent heroines. Best of luck to you.

    • Angela January 18, 2018 / 7:52 am

Thanks for the kind words! I will look that series up for sure!

Thanks TaQuanda! It has been quite the adjustment 😔

  26. disperser January 27, 2018 / 8:21 pm

    Well, that doesn’t look good.

Not sure about blaming the steps as I presume it has more to do with Winter but if taking a sledgehammer to them is cathartic, well, go for it.

Seriously, best wishes for a complete recovery. While I don’t have personal experience with those kinds of breaks, I followed another person who had a similar break and had a time of it. It’s one of the worst injuries one can have.

As for reading suggestions . . . well, you seem to have a bunch, at least enough to keep you occupied for a while.

    Take care.

  27. niyogisandip January 28, 2018 / 3:59 am

Hi Angela, while your condition seems too painful and I pray for your quick recovery, I have something for you to read which might help you in this condition. I wrote this when my niece had a fracture in her wrist. Can I send it through whatsapp? My no is +91 7433829448. Please send a message. ( note: My english is not very good, please bear with it )

    • Angela January 28, 2018 / 5:02 am

      • niyogisandip January 28, 2018 / 6:02 am

I have sent it through email.
