What I’m Watching!

Watching? Not reading? Yes; watching. I hate to admit it, but lately I have been spending more time watching tv than reading books. But in my defense; I have read 4 books this past weekend, so I think I’m winning!

It is too hot in Michigan right now to even think about leaving the house. Unless if the power goes out and your house warms up to those 110 degree heat indexes. Then just leave…

Watching: Shameless. Two of my daughters have been raving about this show, and as I woke up before 4 am this morning and started coffee (yes, that is 23 hours awake right now), I caught about the first 5 episodes before I had to get in the car and drive all over West Michigan.

Side note: it was an awesome day with family and friends, so feeling good!

Also watched the movie Game night, with Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams. Loved it. The second rental from Family Video was Paul, Apostle of Christ. Watched it twice, and will be adding it to my collection.

Rewatching: Sons of Anarchy. Missed the gang, so I am back into the middle of season 2 and with this hot weather, I have plenty of inside time to make a dent in it.

Also rewatching Ozark (NetFlix), for the 3rd time. Anxiously waiting for season two on August 31st!

Always Watching: I have to sleep with the tv on; so I am always watching documentaries on Christianity, History, and various historical figures from Presidents, to artists, to anything I want to learn about. I also binge watch British game shows (they call them panel shows), and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Q1, and Would I Lie to You are my favorites. I cannot get enough of Jimmy Carr, Jon Richardson, Sean Lock, and David Mitchell.

When all of this stuff is not occupying me, along with chasing daughters around with everything they have going on, my two boys are always good for entertainment. In case if you have not met Benjamin (Bare Bottom Benjamin Blue), and Franklin (Furless Franklin), before; these are my two hairless cats that pretty much run the house, and my life.

Do you have television favorites you cannot get enough of?

Rented Game Night too ludicrously funny. I was choke-laughing at the bullet scene.

I am not ashamed to say I love Jason Bateman in everything he has done LOL 🙂

Ditto. I can’t remember a movie that has him in it that I didn’t like.

Just started watching Ozark haven’t become addicted yet. Reading 4 books in 1 weekend is simply wow. Enjoy your watching time.

    • Angela July 5, 2018 / 6:16 am

It took me about 4 or 5 episodes to get into Ozark; don’t give up 😂

      • nikkidiscovers July 5, 2018 / 11:38 am

Ha ha noted will let you know how it goes 😂

Thanks! It’s like having two toddler boys in the house, and after raising 4 daughters, that’s saying something lolol 😂

      • Cozynookbks July 5, 2018 / 3:08 pm

        😂😂
Do they get cold a lot?

      • Angela July 5, 2018 / 3:20 pm

They sleep under the blankets, and own more sweaters than I do 😂

I really need to start watching Shameless. Everyone who has ever mentioned it tells me it’s fantastic.

    • Angela July 5, 2018 / 12:59 pm

I’m pretty sure it’s how I’m spending my day after I do a bunch of running around 😂

I can’t read 4 books in one weekend anymore. Especially when they’re thick like the A Song of Ice and Fire books are. Lol. I can’t get enough of Arrow, How I Met Your Mother, and Everything Sucks!. Oddly enough, I think they’re all on Netflix.

Hey Angela, just thought I’d visit your blog too. I just love your sweet hairless kitties! I bet I wouldn’t be allergic to that kind of a cat! 😉 Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    • Angela July 5, 2018 / 12:58 pm

You’re welcome Tari! The cats can be a handful, but I love them to bits and couldn’t imagine a day without them! As a note, some with cat allergies can be more allergic to hairless cats as there is no fur to help contain the skin dander and oils which is what most are allergic to

Bet your fur-free cats are even less keen than you at going outside this weather!

    • Angela July 5, 2018 / 12:55 pm

Actually, they like it hot and we always have to watch them, Benjamin especially, when coming or going in the doors!

I’m a die-hard forensics show (no pun intended!) I’ve got tons of favorites though my go-tos are Forensic Files and The New Detectives: Case Studies in Forensic Science. I’ll try anything though and have discovered Cold Justice which I’m actually thinking about subscribing to Sling or YouTube TV so I can watch on television since Netflix only has a few of the shows.

Unsurprisingly, these are also non-fiction books I gravitate to. I’ve read lots of memoirs from forensic pathologists and anthropologists plus books related to forensics like No Stone Unturned: The True Story of the World’s Premier Forensic Investigators (by Steve Jackson about Neceo-Search International) or The Murder Room: The Heirs of Sherlock Holmes Gather to Solve the World’s Most Perplexing Cases (by Michael Capuzzo about the Vidocq Society.)

I have been watching a lot of documentaries on YouTube from ID channel and 48 Hours Mysteries

      • messybookcaseblog July 5, 2018 / 2:48 pm

I’ve got the ID channel add on for my Amazon Prime. I completely understand. I’m a much bigger fan of documentaries than I am most TV shows.

      • Angela July 5, 2018 / 3:01 pm

        I am as well!

(Behind on posting my reviews, need to catch up)

    • Angela July 5, 2018 / 12:52 pm

I was watching Grace and Frankie for a while myself!

Your cats are adorable! I feel like I’m watching a ton of stuff right now- Westworld, The Rain, The Dark, Clone Wars. Unfortunately I’m not managing to finish anything! But I’m working on it 🙂

    • Angela July 5, 2018 / 1:04 pm

I seem to be in the middle of a few series as well, and not getting any of them finished!
