The third book in the Darkness Trilogy was fantastic! AJ Spencer once again delivered a great book that I could not read fast enough.

Natasha Stoltz has learned the identity of the Serial Killer known as Grimm. What she does with that information will change her life forever.

The first two books were like a game of cat-and-mouse, with Grimm always one step ahead of her. Always taunting, and always getting away.

Natasha will go from FBI agent to living in a world much different than she could have ever expected.

Thought about? Yes. Expected? Never.

This book will have you in its grip right through to the very last page. I personally think it is a wonderful trilogy, but also feel there is an opportunity for some of the characters in these stories to weave their own new stories for us to read.

(The violence in this book is kept to a bare minimum compared to the first two books in the series. It does contain graphic sexual content, so enter at your own risk. But you really want to enter!)

I had the great pleasure and enjoyment to read AJ Spencer’s second book in her Submit to Darkness Series. I reviewed the first book here: https://booksandopinions.com/2014/11/18/edge-of-darkness-submit-to-darkness-book-1-aj-spencer/

One of the first things I noted about her first story was that I had it read in less than 24 hours, it was that good. This second installment, Darkness Falls, I had read in less than 8 hours.

This second book continues with Detective Natasha Stolt trying to get into the mind of the serial killer known as Grimm. Her partner, Giovanni Tagliente reveals the reason he has something to hide. Natasha finds herself being held captive by this monster of a man, only she sees something other than the horrible, un-human being the country seems to know him as.

Natasha is forced to look deep inside herself at thoughts and feelings she would rather not admit she has. Can she control the monster known as Grimm, before he truly gets 100% control of her?

This is a heart-pounding adventure, full of twists and turns, and its fair share of erotica. This is not your cookie-cutter story seeking fame on the coattails of previously released erotica stories. This series stands well on its own, and puts the others to shame!

(The first novel has a well-earned warning due to the graphic nature of the story. The same holds true here. There is descriptive violence against women and children in the most depraved sense of the word. It justly serves the story, and is necessary to the telling of it. As I said in my first review; if this is something you cannot handle, this is not the series for you.)

This story was a great read for me, and I had in finished within 24 hours. It is fast-paced, with characters that are well-developed and detailed descriptions that easily have you watching this story in your mind as you are reading it. You can see the characters, and you have empathy for them. Well, some of them. Derik Ryder; not so much.

Natasha Stolt is new on the case of the Serial Killer known to the public as Grimm, due to his fascination with staging his victims in a Fairy Tale type of scene, making a point that Natasha recognizes right away.

Her partner, Giovanni Tagliente, seems to have something to hide. I have a feeling book 2 is going to be a bit more sinister than this, and the lines are going to be drawn in the sand between what is good, and what is evil, and exactly where Natasha stands on that line between darkness and good.

I will certainly be finishing the next two books of this story; it is spectacularly written with a storyline and plot that will have many looking deep inside themselves to see if they are 100 percent sure of exactly where they stand on that line between darkness and good as well.

(This book comes with a warning disclaimer due to the graphic nature and violence of the story. It is justly earned so if reading graphic novels that include violence against women in every possible sense of the word is upsetting to you, this book is not for you).
