When I am Not Reading or Editing…

…or raising girls, or working, or homeschooling, or making bookish gifts for my Etsy store, or trying to squeeze in time with my amazing boyfriend, or going to college… I take pictures! I love nothing more than getting in my car before the sun rises, and getting pictures. I love nature, flowers, plants, wildlife, and macro pictures are my favorite!

But Autumn in West Michigan is definitely my favorite time of year!

Life As I Know It Is Officially Over…

…because after having 10 weeks off from college, and almost 2 more weeks to go, I will again have class starting as I continue working on my MBA.

Accounting. Accounting for Managers, to be exact. I could have cried when I opened the book. Not counting the index, and numerous appendixes, this book is 1145 pages long.

Accounting Book 001

So I am pretty sure that when I say I am going to have 6 long weeks of nothing but accounting, I am probably 110% correct. I like working with numbers, and I have taken enough accounting and financial classes that I am not concerned about the work load, but I am very concerned about what kind of life I am going to have outside of working full-time, homeschooling a teenager, and a Master’s level Accounting class.

Yes, “What was I thinking is running through my brain non-stop right now!” When I disappear for awhile, do not panic 🙂

Did Any Of Your Favorites Win A Goodreads Award?

I know I am a few days late, but I have been incredibly busy and just now had a chance to go see who the winners were in the Goodreads Best Books of 2014 contest.

There were a total of 3,317,504 votes placed. 6 of the books I chose won. There were a couple categories I did not vote on because I had no interest in them and had not heard of or read any of the books.

How did your favorites fare? Do you know someone who was a winner this year? I know I have read some great stories this year by new authors who I have no doubt will one day have their books being voted on as well.

I do have more book reviews coming, as well as more author features. My 13 year-old homeschooler has fallen off the wagon on staying on task, so I have been getting up at 4am, going to work for 9 hours a day, and then coming straight home and spending 5 to 6 hours every night helping her get back on track. I could of sworn I successfully made it through the 8th grade, about 30 years ago; it sure feels like I am going through it all over again!

Smooth Moves and Switching Over

I Hope This Goes Better Than I Am Expecting! Probably not what you expected either, from the title!

I am moving my blogs to a self-hosted website, so I can have more control over how my pages look, as well as what add-ins are displayed. I am hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. So, I will be absolutely devastated if my followers don’t get redirected to my new website as it states it will do.

I know several of you are following two of my blogs, and one of you is following all 3 ( J ). I do not know how long this transition may take, but I will definitely keep them open where they are at until I know I can export everything over.

So, if I disappear for a while, I apologize, I will just be sitting in front of my laptop, crying because I messed something up!
