The last day of ANY college class! I have to admit, this class went fairly well, and I had a great professor. He even suggested I submit my Graduate Research Paper to a magazine, journal, or online publication! I was shocked, but also very happy for the great encouragement. It really is nice to be recognized for the amount of hard work one invests in that type of assignment.

So to celebrate, I dropped my HR Management class that was scheduled to begin tomorrow. It is starting to get nice here in West Michigan, and I want to read books that I pick. I also have a couple of editing jobs I just started working on, so I am very excited about that. I also plan on a lot of motorcycle rides, swimming pool time, and just plain laziness until my next class starts on June 23rd.
Yeah; June 23rd. Not the greatest time to start a college class, but it is my last required core class, and this is the last time it is offered this year, so I have to take it then or wait until 2017. I am already crossing fingers that that class will go as well as this one did.
So plan on a lot of book reviews, some featured authors, great quotes, and I will try to limit my grumbling to my parenting blog π
…for my new kitten. Yes; my new kitten. I know this is a blog about books, but as books are my life, and I am getting this new kitten in two weeks, I need his name to be amazing.
I have a 2 year old Hairless Sphynx, Beeblebrox Bare Bottom Benjamin Blu. Beeblebrox is my breeders name that is on all of her kittens, and I get a total of 35 letters and spaces, including her breeder name. I got Benny maxed out at 35. His official name is ridiculous, but he is just Benny to me π Bare Bottom for the lack of hair, and Blu because of those amazing eyes.

So, I am getting another Hairless Sphynx, and this one is a ginger. And here he is…

So I immediately thought Rip Van Wrinkled, and call him Ripper. Or Bilbo Baggyskins. You see the trend here? My girls have been calling him Cheddar since they saw this picture.
I love Sherlock Holmes. Dr. John Want-Some Fur, and call him Watson? Mr. Tumnus? I am obsessed with Abraham Lincoln, but neither is an option for personal reasons due to the nick-names I know he will get.
No Weasley’s; my girls are mad about that.
Anything? Anyone?
…college books. On information systems. 4 1/2 more weeks of this class, and then I have Human Resource Management starting the day after this ends. Going to college online means I do not get one single day off. But I have been squeezing in some reading-for-pleasure, so I have some great book reviews coming soon.

What books are you enjoying right now?
I was anxious to get started on this book, as I have made it a habit to read βThe Shackβ pretty much once a year. I was aware this book would be different. Not just in the story line, but in the style it was written, and how I reacted, and interacted, with it.

Yes; I do interact with the stories I read. In the manner of when I do not have said book in my hands, reading, I still think about it throughout the day. The characters, the plot, what I could be missing, and what I do not understand, or have just not figured out yet.
It did take me a couple chapters to really get into the story, and understand what exactly it was I was reading about. I knew from the book jacket that Lilly was a girl who washed up on a beach on an island between worlds. Lilly being from Earth, and the place where she landed, never really named.
There are many characters in this story, and they each seem to have a very important role within the story. While this is a retelling of creation and how we, man, all came to be, you will see that while it holds true to what you will read in Genesis (the first book of the Old Testament in the Bible), it gives you another insight into how it really all could have happened.
As you read it, you can see it. You may be a bit confused, but yet you understand it. It all makes sense, in the grand scheme of things. Lilly is a Watcher, and although it takes her quite some time to accept the fact that maybe she really isnβt useless, you can certainly sympathize with her and feel the true pain of her mind, body, and soul.
